We all love money , we all love to win, we all love to collect at the window.
Now, what do we expect, as we know the track people like a few we know here on the forum say, it's all your handicapping, I say BS to this, they are not really players.
People bet, Track people bet, trainers bet, management bets, Jockey's BET,
Even Goof and Trevor bet, and don't say they don't, they do, when they get a hot tip
People, to survive in this game, we must concentrate on one type of bet. Handicapping is somewhat a part of it, but we as players are fighting people who want to take your money.
So play hard on one type of bet, it doesn't matter what it is, play and play to win. Stick to it, don't go into another type of bet until you lose or you collect. sit there and grind you teeth.
Bet hard, play hard. When you see an overlay on a horse that is 5-1 and its double, look out, when one see's 8-1 shots at 7-1 look out or the famous 12-1 shot going off at 25 to 1, put a few bucks on it.
If you play the pick 4 or the pick 5, put these horses in no matter who the horse is or who is riding the animal.
We like to make a score, however, one is fighting the odds, Remember get the odds's on your side and the odds's will take care of you.
One may cash a ticket and lose money or one may cash a big one. Only lady luck knows , however, you are and not taking a total lose like most people.
Here is an example of a pick 3 type of bet I do, I will take six horses, over six horses time over 2, horse ,again it depends on what race I start my pick 3.
if it is the beginning of the pick 5, full boat, beginning of the pick 6, I cover most horses up to 12-1, beginning of the late pick 4, I do the same.
So, play like you expect something high to win. Get the odds's on your side and take their money more often then none.
Even Einstein tried handicapping, he got his butt kick. so don't look to logic to make you win, expect the un expected in the first leg of the above races I mention.
Now this is just my opinion in playing for over 35 years. I have survived the game, One can beat a race, but beating the races, forget it. So get the odds's on your side, then one has a ghost of a chance to win and collect most of the time.

An handicapping tip that I follow is the jockey with only one (or two) ride on a card especially if they aren't doing so until later in the day. This does not apply towards the Los Al wannabees or the ones that are just out there looking for exercise business.

Lester, I think you finally unlocked the key to beating the races. You have found the Chupacabre!

Joel That is the difference in going to the window or going home broke and we seen a lot of people going home broke. if one hits 2 longs shots back to back and then the favorite or the second fav, you are going home with a lot of money I did this at HP this season, I hit a $850 pick 3 on a 72 dollar bet.
