I guess he couldn't convince his fellow Frenchy, Julien Leparoux, to ride.

10 day suspension was handed out for that ride.

Back to the race itself, for a Maiden Claiming $20k I thought it was odd with the full field of 14 entered that neither Gomez, Bejarano, Garcia, Talamo, Leparoux and T Baze rode in it. Only Maldonado did.

It seemed like a cheap race. That's why the big name riders didn't want to ride in it.

Mitch, I was so going to use that as the benchmark as the worst ride I had seem until the ninth today...

Enginesixtynine Aug 28, 2009 race five Del Mar...

Casandra is Biancone's exercise rider...I do feel terrible for her, that cannot be much fun...

I watched the replay and don't think it was the worst ride I have ever seen. She continued to peek behind her and it was obvious she was pretty scared. She was all over the track in the stretch and lost a few lengths imo. Its nice to see a trainer throw an exercise rider a bone.I understand why the bettors are upset.

Why's everyone in here always pickin' on jockeys?

Makes no sense to me.

Cassandra timed her move perfectly, saved ground for the most part and the horse simply ran out of gas.

Love happens.

Wouldn't be surprised if Biancone over-juiced the horse and that made him dizzy and leg weary.

Leave the broad alone, or try picking on me.

Agree, Fredo....it's not like she didn't TRY...but think she was excited/frightened by having an easy lead....but I think her horse got kinda tired, too....she DOES need to do a little work on her whipping....I thought she might fall off her horse!! :?

Cant believe most of the focus on here was that she got caught at the end. The entire ride was dreadful. If you watch her hands, legs, posture...she was standing up, changing positions, constantly grabbling the reigns and jerking them around. Whether she got caught or not was not even the point, the point is she should not be allowed to ride again until she learns a lot more. This was a simple race where she made the lead, can you imagine her riding 6 1/2 furlongs down the hill. She is dangerous.
