Meadowlans head scratcher....

Postby Reallyquiet » Wed Jan 02, 2013 4:07 pm

Did anyone see the results of the 2nd race at the Meadowlands opening night? The winner paid $246 to win,the second horse was roughly 16-1 keying an exacta paying$4,500(roughly).The third horse was roughly 12-1,and the TRIFECTA PAID$4,300!!! Sometimes at the bush harness tracks youll see strange payouts such as this, but the Med had roughly a 3 million dollar handle opening night. For an exacta to pay$4,500,but the tri$(4,300) ,with a 12-1 kicker in the 3rd spot PAYING LESS THAN THE EXACT is mind boggling.I could understand if the 3rd horse was 2-5,and many players would box the favorite with bombs,a strange payout could be in order. But with 3 bombs, that tri shoula paid $15,000 minimum.

I saw that.
I think the pools were Exacta $67K and Trifecta $55K.
With a 25% tri takeout there would be about 10 winning tickets.
Something stunk or Herve Filion got the old gang together for one last coup before new years.
I looked on one harness forum and nobody was complaining or mentioning it, which was stranger than the payout.
It must have been a horsemens race, I guess.

In situations like that. All it takes is a ticket or two with somebody's street address or lucky number to throw things out of whack.

Here are a few ideas ...

Campbell drove the 3rd place finisher ... http://racing.ustrotting.com/chart.aspx ... December 28th ... 2nd race

order of finish = 10-2-3 = 2013 = horsemen's race

Is the exacta payout for $2 verse a $1 trifecta?

Both Exacta and Trifecta were listed as $2 payoffs.

This is one example why Vince only plays honest harness horse racing, i.e. Cal Expo. And now with Exchange Wagering to keep them in check, they're even more honest.
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

I am sure if you play the trotters you will get a really fair shake with Exchange Wagering. I cant wait to sign up and give it a whirl.
