“He was just a great horse – never sick, never lame, just a really solid guy,” said Patricia Ramey, who took care of Lord Avie at Blue Ridge Farm. “He was a real horse: good blood and good bone, not one of these ultra-sensitive, inbred Thoroughbreds you see so often today. And he had a huge heart and loved every day of his life. That horse was so happy. He didn’t have many teeth, but he always ate his food, cleaned it up every day. Then Christmas night he quit eating.

“The sun was shining bright in his paddock yesterday, and his son Boyce came over to the fence as we were saying goodbye to him. He just came running over. I’m just glad (Lord Avie) didn’t suffer at the end.”
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

Was Deputed Testimony (#16) really as sway-backed as he looks under tack?

That Dynaformer was a fat one (#27). What a belly!

Nice to see the horses that lived to a grand old age.

one of the best horses i was ever around was by lord avie. the name of the horse was lookslikemoney. he won 1st time out at oaklawn
and paid $42.00 i killed um on that. next out he ran in the old rose bud went off 7to1 got beat a head stewarts inquiry wasnt allowed, should
have taken down the winner. next out he ran a nice 5th in the arkansas derby behind pine bluff, was hurt in that race and was never the same
after that but was still a hard knocking horse, won 7 or 8 races and won about $200k. had he not been hurt in the ark derby i have no doubt
he would have won the kentucky derby

I didn't realize Thiskyhasnolimit had died, I knew he had broke down in Feb, and was on the mend in March. Too bad.

I recall that LJ (Leslie) had one by Lord Avie. She was pretty high on him (LA).
