Re: Aqueduct is a dump
Yes, Aqua Duck is a Dump, but hard to feel sorry for the scumbag press boys who leech free meals..
Re: Aqueduct is a dump
Grew up at the dump, which it was back in the 70's and 80's as it is now. Best thing about the dump was the hot pretzels we bought in the winter when we were leaving the track. They kept your hands warm while, walking, or running to the car. or The guy who used to chant "trahta cah" as you walked out. To interpret he was saying "trotter car", which was a gypsy cab/limo that took you to Yonkers for the trots at night. Never could figure out how you got back after the trots because I never saw the same guy saying cah to Queens. 1994 Stanley Cup Champion
Re: Aqueduct is a dumpbest streak i ever had was at aqueduct in 1985-86
i actually liked it there. always spent my time on the 2nd floor straight up from the finish line. just bet on oscars horses and no need to work for two years.
Re: Aqueduct is a dumpOnly Belmont and Saratoga shine while Aqueduct you guys think is a dump.
Re: Aqueduct is a dump
WRONG, Ernie, Belmont is a Dump, too..
Re: Aqueduct is a dump
The view out from inside the Belmont dump is really nice though. Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.
Re: Aqueduct is a dump
WHY? Isn't Belmont superior than Aqeuduct? We all know Saratoga is the cream of NY Racing.
Re: Aqueduct is a dump
Joel, I have never been to a racetrack with a better backside than Belmont...It is horse heaven...The stalls are huge, there is grass everywhere for the horses to munch on, it is beautiful...I am not crazy about the paddock area, I think they could do more with it and the grandstand is ok... I would hardly call Belmont a "dump', especially the barn area
Re: Aqueduct is a dump
Well, I don't hang around the backside, like you do. But when I visited, the front side was figuratively a dump. ie. there was trash piled up EVERYWHERE..
