There should've been an inquiry but MMA didn't finish 2nd. So that's why probably that there wasn't an inquiry at all. Good run from Reneesgotzip and Book Review. Keep Renee sprinting and try route distance again with Book Review.

HUH?????? Renee is the one who caused the incident and she finished second....Hence, there should have been an inquiry

Lester, Did I see the race??? It is what I do for a living... I wasn't smoking a cigarette or collecting calenders... My notes on the La Brea available at Handicappers Report...

In a fast early, very slow late running of the Grade 1 La Brea Stakes, New York invader BOOK REVIEW, in her first for Baffert, overcame trouble while helped by the raceshape to get up close home under Bejarano. The Giant’s Causeway homebred lagged well off the fast pace down the backstretch, split horses to start her run leaving the far turn, came out in the lane, had to alter course midstretch when tiring NECHEZ DAWN lugged out right in front of her, grinded the final 1/16th, up near the wire. Subpar rating and the 13.52 final furlong indicated the leaders were stopping rather than her really finishing, she will likely surface in the La Canada next. RENEESGOTZIP was sent to lead early, came under pressure to battle inside midway down the backside, took a short lead leaving the far turn, made contact with MY MISS AURELIA into the lane, came out and brushed with her again midstretch, was guided out again by Gomez to bump that foe again deep stretch, wouldn’t let that one by, but was nailed by the winner near the wire. 2/5 favorite MY MISS AURELIA stalked three-deep early then was niggled at by Nakatani to bid three-wide midway down the backside and around the far turn, angled in and made first contact with ‘ZIP into the lane, battled outside that one then was bumped in midstretch, was on near even terms when bumped again deep stretch, never got by. There was bickering amongst the stewards whether to call an inquiry, but none was ever called, there certainly was enough contact to warrant it, and Asmussen was not too pleased with the ride after the race. CANDREA tracked early then dropped off the pace leaving the backside and around the far turn, angled to the fence into the stretch, made up ground with the racehsape to deep stretch, angled out late, missed the minor awards. NECHEZ DAWN was not quick early, moved up to bid for command between horses midway down the backside, was the first to drop out of it leaving the far turn, drifted out in the stretch taking the winners path midstretch, fell further back from there. CREDITCARDROULETTE trailed badly the whole way, passed one. MAMMA KIMBO broke a step slowly, moved into a tracking spot off the top three midway down the backside, outrun four-wide into the stretch, stopped. She will likely be retired and bred.
1. BOOK REVIEW 107 s 5. NECHEZ DAWN 88 s
2. RENEESGOTZIP 106 s 6. CREDITCARDROULETTE 86 s
3. MY MISS AURELIA 106 s 7. MAMMA KIMBO 81 s
4. CANDREA 104 s

Smoking and collecting calenders may make a late run for "Quote of the Year"
