My favorite place when I resided there was the Santa Fe Station on Rancho Drive. Treated you well with compassion
and humility. Buffet comps, VIP seating area, ADW machines throughout, high def TV's. Couldn't ask for more.
This was in 2005 though. Kermit can give you a more current evaluation.

I was there today - yesterday also. Things crashed in 2008-2009, lots of stuff was cut back. No ADW machines, still have the TV's but they are getting tired, They have great big screens, full-wall, nothing cheap there. You would have to get a player's card and earn points for the buffet comps, not that hard to do when churning. Free drinks when you can catch one of the dollies, very friendly tellers. Horse racing and 'other' sports book stuff all in one room, a little noisey on Sundays.

If you want to go for one or two days, go to the Wynn or some other super-nice book. I couldn't afford to stay there but no charge for gambling. Nicest chairs, fantastic TVs - no searching thru the channels. They have a main menu screen that lists every race, just tap the one you want, you get a 1/2 screen picture, tap it again for full screen. All the tellers just assume you are rich and are very nice and efficient. The ladies are beautiful, the drinks are free. If you are a big bettor, no matter where you go, talk to the manager at the book, he will help you out.

Peace and quiet - Aliante Casino, about 30 miles from the Strip.
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

I hung out with Chad Henry and Steve Rappaport of the Santa Fe years ago. Not sure if they are still there????

Lester,
As luck would have it, I'm in Vegas and hit a few of the books on the strip today.
I was most impressed with the Bellagio. It doesn't look like much from the casino floor, but it really opens up once you get up close to the tellers. IMO, it is a nice mix of the grandeur of Caesars and the class of the Wynn. Very nice seats. Drinks were not easy to get, but did not require a voucher. This is a Thursday tho.

Bingo!

Love the Leather chairs at the Bellagio.......nicest tellers too. I don't drink but it is definitely my favorite casino and their rooms are fantastic too. Perks are FANtastic too even for an itty-bitty gambler like me.

I be in Vegas starting Saturday and for the strip have loved Bellagio for years and their book. The drinks have booze in them which is nice and the drinks are replenished every 30-45 minutes.

I'll take the laid back Aria over ANY of the ones mentioned.

Drink servers treat every $2 bettor like a high roller.

GREAT poker room, and GREAT sportsbook..

I could be wrong - was there last year at the Aria to see Elvis and I went into the sports room and did not see a HORSE menu. Did they just put one in or am I going blind?

Btw, it is a great joint.
