Will the $ .20 Triactor be a boon or bust?

Postby Promoter » Mon Dec 10, 2012 3:07 pm

Woodbine has been offering 20 cent Triactors in the U.S. primarily in Florida for the last month and will be doing so at more outlets for closing weekend. So far they seem to be helping the pools a bit, but most of the payoffs seem to be in the $15-$25 range. Probably not good for creating headlines, but I sense it may be helping in the Churn department. Could the 20 centers do for trifectas what the dime did for the Super?

Serious players won't put serious $$ into those pools.

20 cent tri's realy? I thought 50 cent trifecta was alittle much, 20 cent is just rediculous.

I'm still holding out for the Penny Pick-All..it's going to happen at some track, sooner or later.

These cheapo bets have turned the art of picking winners into playing the lottery..

Joel> I didn't know about Retama. Why do you call it a bust. No additional handle? Cheapens the payouts? Or all the above? The only plus side from a handicapping point of view is playing $1 and $2 tickets on your A picks and maybe using the dime or 20 cents using some C and D picks.

I have done very well at Woodbine with the 20 cent bet, in the tri, Pick 3 and the Pick 4

The pools are good and everyone has a real good chance to win at that track. I think they produce more winners then any other track running in N America.
