Yea right even money. Odds would prolly be -600 to -800 range to not make the Derby.

Every year I wait until I am <img src="/images/chat/whale.gif">n away by a perfromance and try to get in before the odds get too low, the years I don't see anything that captivates me, I pass...

Flashback looked like a serious horse in the paddock, a Tapit that carried a lot of weight (most are light boned), then won with consummate ease, beating the best maiden field I have seen in So. Calif. this year, including a Shirreffs/Moss trainee that I also loved the looks of in the paddock...Flashback is a full brother to Zazu, looks like he will run all day, and is trained by a guy who has won three Ky. Derbies already... I loved him in the paddock and I LOVED what I saw on the track, he won like a future superstar...I bet $100 @ 150/1 on Flashback... It is a long way away, and takes a LOT of luck!

cb, did you make that derby future bet right after this horse ran? these casinos are pretty sharp generally when it comes to that. several years back this horse won a 3 year old alw race real impressively and at the casino i was at several folks ran up and made bets on him at 500to1, within 10 minutes he was down to 20to1, and i dont think those were huge bets, at least not where i was. coincedently the horse that ran 3rd in that race was charismatic, so we all bet the wrong horse in the future bet.
