This is an excellent move for HRTV and Christina and a significant hit for TVG.
HRTV gets a quality reporter who's incite into horse racing is impeccable.
Christina has proven to be a valued asset, and the people at HRTV recognize that and this will propel both sides.
TVG suffers a huge hit as yet another quality broadcaster leaves or is let go from the so called "America's horse racing leader"
Change is good and Christina will most likely get more professional opportunities. As for the comments made regarding Ms. Olivares' attitude, hopefully she will learn, evolve, and mature into the consummate professional both on and especially OFF camera.
Now, HRTV needs to overcome one more hurdle and get their signal on DirecTV (which is a very difficult proposition). TVG and some of their partners are using significant resources and pressure toward DirecTV to keep HRTV off DirecTV's channel lineup. When the day comes that HRTV is finally on DirecTV, you will see a significant shift in the industry.
GOOD LUCK TO CHRISTINA
Hold on. I thought TVG and Frank the Austrian were going to share each other's signal. If that's the case, then Christina will still be on TVG! Then again, now that Frank has Christina he may tell TVG and its roster of clowns to take that deal and shove it.
They each have their own broadcasts.
TVG drives handle not just because of better distribution but because they talk up the wagering more. HRTV started to talk more about gambling last meet by promoting the P5 and handle went up on the P5 and the early P4. Having both networks broadcast Santa Anita will help their handle quite a bit.
