post positions

Postby Crazykid » Sat Dec 01, 2012 11:33 am

for the most part i dont pay much attention to post positions, not that they dont matter but i generally play the horse i think is best regardless. a few exceptions exist though. the inside in the kentucky derby the inside going down the hill at santa anita are the kiss of death. another exception are the outside posts at turfway park, over the last 5 years or so the outside posts at turfway have returned huge payouts in the excatas, trifectas and superfectas. watch and see before this weekend is over a $10k+ tri or super will hit with the outside posts. if you just box the 4 outside horses in every race in the excata, trifecta, superfecta you have an excellent chance of going to the irs window. i have seen several $30k+ tris and supers hit there in the last few years. i remember one day thier were like 5 tri's/supers that all paid huge had you just boxed those 4 outside posts. one was like $100k that day for the super and everyone of them paid $5k+ on the super

Lone Star Park will occasionally bias toward the outside posts. I don't know what they do or what happenes to cause it, but ya' gotta roll with it when it comes up. Moves horses up by about 3-4 lengths (or slows the inside by that amount).
But I don't live there anymore.

Remember about 10 years ago when betting PP's 1-2-3 was like a licence to print money at the Fairgorunds..

It was usually 1 or 2 days after a rain, did something to the track. Of course the Gulf of Mexico is only 17 feet away - straight down (except during hurricanes, when it's 5 feet ABOVE).

so far after 4 races collect $948.00
if you bet every bet including exactas, trifectas, superfectas, daily doubles, pick 3s
