CT Classic Purse Structure Changed

Postby Southieboy » Thu Nov 29, 2012 8:38 am

The purse for the grade 2 Charles Town Classic will increase to $1.5 million in 2013 and award the winner $1 million under a revised payment structure.

With the winner receiving $1 million, $500,000 will be split among the remaining nine finishers. In another change, horses that have won a grade I stakes in the previous two years will be spared entry and starting fees, officials said.

Incredible. The Santa Anita Handicap was stuck at a million for 10-20 years? Then dropped down to 750,000. What a joke....

Just goes to show you that the toothless hillbillies (their west coast counterpart the people you see at 7-11 buying scratchers on pay day) are putting a lot of money through the casino.

That's correct Chris. The scratchers are the hillbillies early retirement plan.

I wish the BIG CAP was back at a million. I wouldn't be surprised to see that CT Classic a G1 soon.
