$3,200 claimers at GG

Postby Southieboy » Mon Nov 26, 2012 9:14 pm

Starting Thursday Golden Gate will be carding races with a new low $3,200 claiming level with a $7,000 purse, the lowest level was previously $4,000. I know the quality of racing at Golden Gate is not much, but has it gotten this bad? I come from a place that is notorious for cheap racing (Suffolk) but do not recall that level around here in a long time (probably the mid 90's).

I witnessed it first hand at Suffolk back in the 70's,they got down to If I remember right 1500 and the green mountain shippers,CA racing is following that same pattern over the last decade and a half
