Baffert always blames the jockeys, he's an a-hole and I loved the fact he ate crap in the Breeders Cup, couldn't happen to a nicer guy, as for jockeys, they're only as good as the horses they get, the truly good jockies are those who have the ability to be cool under pressure, in the big stakes races. I think Bejarano is a good jock like a lot of them are , in a stakes race though I'll take Gomez any day of the week over him, he's always in the mix.
Wrong race though because I wanted Zenyatta to win!! If it wasn't for Mike Smith for putting that horse too far back she would've won that race.

Do you really believe he put her that far back? Did you see how she was getting over the track in the first quarter? Clearly was not comfortable. He said he almost pulled her up. You think he was lying? Covering his ass? Huge Zenyatta fan, but hate when I see this analysis.

At first, I thought it was a bad ride but now that you tell me and I watched the race again. I now believe it now. IMO its the most painful race I've ever seen and I get very disgussted each time I see that race and think she should've won this race and it almost made me cry seeing her lose like that. If she would've lost by alot my reaction would be different.

Zenyatta ran the same speed she always did in the opening portion of her races, the difference was these were far better dirt horses she was facing and Blame was every bit as good as she was, Gomez who was essentially riding with one arm that night said he couldn't pull Blame up and if they had gone around again Blame wins, he never let her by and Smith said for the first time in a race she was tired at the end, I hate it when Blame doesn't get the respect he deserves, it's bad enough he was shafted on HOY as well.

If Zenyatta didn't stumble and fall to her knees at the start because the assistant starter was holding her back, and then turn sideways and hit the rail, and then not change leads and have to go 22 horses wide, she would have won that Classic by at least 17 lengths. I saw Blame in his stall the next day and he was more tired than me after a weekend with the broads in Tahoe. Rumor has it that he slept for a month straight after that race. Vince P

She had him beat, one jump past the wire. But that's not where they crown the winner. She did get beat on the square, no doubt about that. Blame was better that day and Gomez gave him a helluva ride considering he prolly shouldn't have ridden due to injuries. But to think Blame beats her everytime they would have met up in race is a bit of a stretch. For a horse that ran 13 times finishing with a 9-2-2 career mark, 3 G1 Wins and 3 GII wins, he got the respect he deserves and goes down in history as the only one to ever beat Zenyatta. Oh, and Zenyatta was shafted as HOY of the year the prior year.
