As you know, I've called many races and ran into this language issue several times.
So, personally, I would just say "Zenyatta's Baby Sister."
Why make things so complicated?
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

I did go see Michelle. He said both my choices were incorrect. The final answer is closer to your version Tuxtin.
I've been further instructed to [pronounce the "t" at the end because she's a filly. A colt the T would be silent.
Thanks to Tuxtin and Vince for the ovewhleming responses.
Vince your ARC call this year was just average. Terrible racetrack made it tougher. Constantly saying " Where the hell is Frankel?" didn't seem appropriate though.
Studied French back in the day. I believe the pronunciation is base of the gender of the word, not of the named animal.
With Trevor's Tray Borrachos, etc. you'll be in good company if you miss-pronounce it.

Oh my! Tugging on Superman's cape a bit are we?
No such thing, Vic. Trevor is great but he has slaughtered some relatively easy ones in the past. I will never forget him calling a favorite filly of mine Really Arrogant instead of Really Elegant multiple times during a race. It was funny. I know I couldn't do that job, so I just laugh and am grateful to be reminded that nobody's perfect. It's what makes us human.
BTW, great call today.
