Can you imagine how much money it would cost that horse?

Galileo (IRE) and Zenyatta(USA)I'm aware that it's not going to happen, but I would like to see a son of Galileo and Zenyatta
Can you imagine how much money it would cost that horse?
Re: Galileo (IRE) and Zenyatta(USA)I'm still waiting to hear confirmation on the Frankel/Black Caviar mating next season.
Re: Galileo (IRE) and Zenyatta(USA)
His stud fee is $200K. They might want to wait on that with her until he's a proven sire. "And Afleet Alex just ran right by Giacomo like he was standing still!"

Re: Galileo (IRE) and Zenyatta(USA)
If they wait until he's a "proven" sire his stud fee will double that.
Re: Galileo (IRE) and Zenyatta(USA)
Nah, I don't think so. And at that fee I don't think he's going to get all that many mares. Who's got that kind of money besides Coolmore? "And Afleet Alex just ran right by Giacomo like he was standing still!"

Re: Galileo (IRE) and Zenyatta(USA)
Of course not! Who in their right mind would raise stud fees when their stallions are succesful? I stand corrected.
Re: Galileo (IRE) and Zenyatta(USA)yup, they never raise stud fees on successful sires

Let's not let facts get in the way of this discussion. lol.
Re: Galileo (IRE) and Zenyatta(USA)Has anyone been tracking current stud fees? Our very best stallions - those who have GR I-proven offspring on the track, are only $150K. I couldn't tell you what Galileo's is because it's private.
Have a look at stud fees around the racing world. I still contend that very few breeders are going to rush to breed to Frankel as an unproven sire, for $200K. Except for Coolmore & their in-crowd. It just doesn't make economic sense. Not anymore. Long gone are the days when when Danzig, Danehill, Sadlers' Wells were fetching stratospheric stud fees. Even Sea the Stars stand for a mere $116K.
