I'll be sure and pass on your advice to Mr. Harris and Mr. Pederson. Thanks for contributing.
I just believe horses should be entered where they belong on a class and talent basis. If he improves in his training
then start him in a Cal Bred maiden allowance race.
Got it. Thanks.
People on here already summing up this horses talent off the horses first 3/8th? Geez. I have a small Giants Causeway filly up north, BIg Team Little Me who worked a bullet fastest of 41 from the gate in 35. Should I just go work her up to the SA Oaks for her debut?
It is always easy to tell other people where to run 'their' horse - and some, heck maybe most of the time, they may be right - but owners have a right to dream for a bit, too. After planning the breeding, waiting for the foal to come, getting them through their first years and finally in training - I am convinced, with all the time, love and money I have spent on that baby - he will be a world beater. Reality sets in soon enough.
Well said, Roys. Owners have a right to dream and their optimism is what makes the industry go. For Pete Mo, I think things look great for you. A Giants Causeway filly with a cool name, fastest of 41 with a 0:35g means 1:40 and change in the SA Oaks! What other conclusion would anybody come to right now? Go for it.
Sweet Mike, I will hold off telling the wife though, she will want to go shopping with the all the money that is going to be coming in I would run sometimes last summer at a local high school, would see the qb of the football team during practices wear a shirt that said Big Team Little Me..it stuck with me, then I thought it kind of fit this filly. If it does not work out, maybe her and 'Goof will be in a "horsemans race" down the road.
