Exchange wagering on Cal Expo Harness.. Guess if thats drums up handle and takes off you know there is a chance for it to work elsewhere.

From the article linked

Both Betfair U.S. and Churchill Downs Inc. have applied for a two-year betting exchange license, which carries a $1.4 million fee.

Who gets that money, Jerry Brown, the CHRB, horsemen, trainers grooms, Lester?

Never mind exchange wagering, the most important part of the article is on the bottom. Hopefully Ferndale isn't in danger again

Also on the Nov. 15 agenda, the CHRB will consider renewing the ADW licenses of TVG, TwinSpires.com, and XpressBet.com, and will look at the 2013 allocated race dates and host fees for Golden Gate Fields and the Humboldt County Fair at Ferndale.

I think there is zero chance Betfair gets to offer EW on Santa Anita races if TOC does give the nod. Churchill might, but think Frankie will not do anything with EW w/BF. This is the last CHRB meeting of the year, generally the ADW do not get approved until December (even if the applications are up for review in November).

Also Cal Expo and Los Al are applying for afternoon racing for December 21-23.

I am waiting for Lou Pena to reappear at Cal Expo around the same time exchage wagering goes live

The chart caller better get used to a few comment lines, "caught first over," "boxed in," and then I am sure the most common one will be "broke stride at start, never recovered"
