Thought it was the strongest sale I have seen in years. Havre De Grace out of sight, Filly like Contested 2,200,000. That had to ease the sting Baffert might have been feeling. Switch 4,000,000+, amazing. But like you mentioned, many of the mares are heading out of the US. Yoshida bought Wickedly Perfect from my partners and I a couple years ago and he bought quite a few tonight. Not a healthy thing for US Breeding to see the outflow. Many thought Besalu was nuts paying 8,500,000 for Royal Delta last November, the way it went tonight he stole her.

Just heard that Larry Zap bloodstock was the underbidder on the Havre de Grace sale. Quit bidding at $9.95 million.

Good one PeteMo. I remember there was a guy in the WWF called the UNDERTAKER.

the chances of recuping $10 million dollars on any mare is 1000to1 against it happening.

Agree for sure. But when Besalu paid 8,500,000 for Royal Delta it was scoffed at also. Granted that is different because she was still a race mare. I would say the way the prices are going, if he wanted to put her Royal Delta into that sale last night you could have seen 15,000,000. He made memories to last a lifetime this past year, made a couple million dollars on the track and he could have probably nearly doubled her purchase price. I would say if you are wealthy and love horses these high end mares bring you a lot of joy watching their babies grow over the years...but you need one of the early babies to be a real runner to make money on the mare.

Saw the Mosses sold Zazu today for 2,000,000++ Sure will never happen but wonder what Zenyatta would bring as a mare? 20,000,000?

Rat hasn't done a whole lot after 2 year old season. New buyer grossly overpaid.
