Surfside - $9 parking fee during BC?

Postby Stefan » Fri Nov 02, 2012 5:53 am

If I run over to the Surfside today or tomorrow to play the BC, will I be charged the $9 for parking?

The website says free parking with Diamond Club hang tag, but I don't have one, but am a Diamond Club member.

Hmm...$9 to park, or $9 in gas to go to Barona? Smells like Catch-22 to me.

I tell you this people, if one is going to a off site and one has to pay for the following

1. Parking

2. Admission,

Stay home and play in your family room, living room and save money.

They are capitalizing on the BC and sucking you dry before one even has a chance to lay down his first bet.

The Breeder's Cup is tomorrow, seriously? Unbelievable!!! I had no idea until I read this post. Did the Breeder's Cup people conduct their marketing campaign in the Cayman Islands or something? I'm shocked. I know I saw somebody post picks last week but I thought the event was still a ways away. I better get a form today, for tomorrow.

While you're at the liquor store buying your form and stocking up on Pabst, ask them if I have to pay $9 to park!!!

Stefan, forget about Surfside or Barona.

Head to Viejas today..super easy to get to and they are giving away a nice looking long-sleeved Breeders Cup T-shirt, with the purchase of a program.

Free admission, free parking, free drinks, etc..

Last time I was at Viejas was years ago...is the book still in that low ceiling room? I was there for the Derby and it was wall-to-wall people in a cramped room. Made me claustrophobic. :?

But free free free sounds pretty good to me! Maybe I'll mosey on over there Saturday.

As far as today goes, I work only about 10 min from Del Mar so I was thinking about Surfside...plus...I don't know...*cough cough*...I'm starting to feel a little under the weather...*hack hack*...and may need to leave work to go rest somewhere this afternoon...*sniffle sniffle*

They refurbished the Viejas OTB a few months ago. Maybe about 2/3rds the size of the Barona one, if you include both the smoking and non-smoking sides at Barona. On a big day you do have to get there early and claim your desk/private TV.

BTW, the free Breeders' Cup Long Sleeved T-shirt giveaway is today only..not tomorrow..
