Rosie Napravnik and record most earnings by female a year

So this year Rosie Napravnik and her earnings are at $10,107,300 with 159 wins and is it a record now for a female? I believe in 1992, Julie Krone and her earnings were at $9,216,622 with 279 wins. So it appears Rosie now holds it and it's been a big year for her. She has good chances this year with Shanghai Bobby and Kauai Katie in the Breeders Cup races so with a win in the BC be the icing on the cake for her during a year where it's considered her breakthrough. I think 2012 was a big year for her and it's going to lead her up to a bigger 2013.

Paced by her victory on Shanghai Bobby in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) Nov. 3 at Santa Anita, Napravnik is the first female rider to surpass $10-million in single-season purse earnings. Through Nov. 11, her North American mounts had earned $11,317,930, a mark well-ahead of Julie Krone's long-standing seasonal record of $9,216,622 set in 1992.

This year Napravnik became the first woman to win the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I), guiding Believe You Can to victory in the $1 million race for 3-year-old fillies. She then became the second woman, joining Krone, to win a Breeders' Cup race on the flat.

Both Ramon Dominguez and Napravnik have fared well racing in New York this season, where already strong purses were enhanced by added money from the Resorts World Casino New York City at Aqueduct.
