How can Los Al have these purses?

Well, I'm down there almost every week. Crowds are much better than HP and SA and the people are having a good time. And they are never begging for horses. TB races are difficult to get into because of the volume of entries.

Why couldn't they card more TB races ? Some tracks in the Midwest do it and seem to be doing ok.

They use them as filler races. QH's are the mainstay down there and they never forget it. If they have enough entries in the QH races to fill the card they will. If they don't they go to the TB's. Then they take the biggest fields first. But QH racing is king.

If QH is king then why are purses still pitful compared to the cheap claiming t-breds that are running there? Friday 5 out of 9 races are at 4.5F.

Also Los Al has seemed to stop running QH races outside of 300, 330 and 350 yards except stakes.
