I Found my First BC Bomb

Postby Vince P » Fri Oct 26, 2012 7:08 am

Please don't laugh and hear me out.

Day 1, 2012, Marathon.

Kaleidoscope (ARG), 30-1ml.

- Nine year old nag moved from Argentina to US a couple of months ago just to prepare for this race.

- Horse seems to want to run all day with a HUGE Tomlinson for this distance.

- Horse seems to much prefer God's Natural Dirt over Turf.

- Has began a steady stream of nice works at Inglewatts.

- Has won in large fields at long distances on dirt.

- Great post position in the 7 hole.

- This Marathon race has come up with bombs in the past.

- Many horses in this race are trying this distance/surface for the first time but not this nag - he's an absolute pro at it.

Go for it and start your BC weekend off on the right foot. You can thank me later with a burger and from In 'N out.

another bomb in that race could be romp. i have special betters relationship with that horse. he was running in ny for a $25k tag, i loved him that day and he didnt run a jump. a few weeks later i bet him again and he didnt run a jump. so i lost my arse on him. about 3 years later i was playing simulcast at turfway and was having a really good day.
at about 3 minutes to post in a stakes race in so cal i noticed his name in the post parade. so i grab the form and see its that same horse, im not sure why i even remembered him. he was like 90to1 on the board. they are now at the gate, so i run up to the window and put $50.00 to win on him (like a dumbass) he gets beat a nose
pays a huge place show price and the gimmicks were all huge. he has hit the board at monster prices several times and if i recall he even won a stakes race or two and has earned like $400k . i wonder how he even ended up in california

Well, there goes my 77-1 odds I was hoping for. Btw, anyone ever see a horse work "bareback?"

http://www.drf.com/news/breeders-cup-cl ... agnificent

Calidoscopio (three furlongs in 37.68 for Marathon) didn’t receive an official work but was in the process of two-minute licking at the end of his second mile when passed by another worker on the turn. The Argentinean-bred, who trains bareback, then dragged his rider through a final quarter-mile in 24 and change down the lane while reaching out with long and very impressive looking strides to the wire. Little known South American invader may be a sleeper in the Marathon.

Was it Rob who used to say "Argentine horses are bred for dirt?"
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

Great call Vince!

He may not have been 30/1 but 17/1 is the perfect odds. The only closer to win all weekend and believe, me on, this, that was a horse of the year performance.

He was definitely the most entertaining horse at BC works with his babushka like scarf around his neck & the jock with his feet out of the stirrups.

Might be a new trend so stay tuned-

Damn Vince !!!! You are the master. Wish I would have heeded your prophecy, as I had Basmati and the Lukas horse in my pick 3, but was alive to only Atigun and Jaycito. I almost put the horse in based on the name. Also good to see Aaron Gryder get a shot in a big race. The guy is vastly underated.
