Only when you really mean and it really works. Otherwise it's just for suckers to believe in. Vince P Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Re: Surface of Race Tracks here in California should all be theNo for a couple reasons. Well there is more than that but I will give you two:
First, even if you used the same material at all the tracks, they would not be the same. Climate and environment have a huge impact on a track surface. Del Mar has always been an inconsistent because of the underground water tables. SA has always been a harder, faster track because of the way the surface reacts to the extreme hot and cold weather. Due to relatively mild weather and the fact that it is not so close to the ocean that there are issues caused by the tides, HP tends to be consistent. Also, most of the inconsistencies and biases you see are the result of tinkering by track maintenance at the urging of management. Using the same surface on every track will not stop them from manipulating the surface by adding water, not adding water, digging it up, rolling it down, etc. Second, what happens when the horses run out of town? Are we going to try to make every track everywhere have the same surface? It is much better for horses to be used to a periodic change in surface than to have them training and running over the same type of ground all the time and then have to deal with a sudden change. Each surface causes a horse to move and carry itself in a different manner to travel over it comfortably. Bones and soft tissue become conditioned to moving that way. Horses conditioned and raced over different surfaces and in different conditions are more prepared to adapt to a change in surface because they had experienced it before. The body was conditioned to adapt and move differently, so it would. With a change like you are suggesting, we would see a lot more horses going out of town and getting injured. Not to mention, it is practically impossible to make them all identical. Not a good idea.
Re: Surface of Race Tracks here in California should all be theTo paraphrase............
Variety is the spice of life. As a bettor- If everything is the same everywhere, get ready for a landslide of 3-5 shots every day. Even with the lower takeout pools like WPS or P5, I'm bucking a higher takeout than other sports. The only chance bettors have is prices, & it's through variety ( surface, distance )that one gets them. If wishes were horses then beggars would ride-
& If dirt were dollars we'd all be in the black
