He is a top synthetic rider, maybe Del Mar would suit him. But seems to me he is riding with very little confidence right now, going to be tough for him out here. If he is in the top 5 I would be shocked.

He'll get his confidence level back up especially since he's going to be riding at different tracks and his stint in NY wasnt quite successful. I think this year we saw a way different Leparoux this year so I think he'll be fine.

I would be shocked if he is still in CA by the SA Handicap personally. He simply is not good period. He does well at Keeneland due to poly and at Churchill as he's a big pond in small waters. He'd do well on the turf but he only will get 2-3 options per day in CA while Gulfstream has carded 5-6 grass races a day during the meet. Plus if he starts cold, I don't think many trainers will want to stick with him and we've seen when an agent carry two top riders at the same time on a circuit it rarely goes well at all.

You make good points but I wouldn't call Keeneland small pond because it is one of the preimer meets in America. Churchill Downs is 50-50 because if it wasn't for them key stakes races then it would be seen as a dump. So I don't think CD isn't that much of a small pond.

Maybe he may be top 5 at the long Santa Anita Meet.

Let's face it. His achilles heel is that he cant get horses out. He'll be so far back in these Santa Anita races, you'll
need a search warrant to find him. His style of riding does not fit the track profile here.

He has to hope for wins on the Santa Anita turf races. I think he'll do fine

As always, when critisized publically, said jockey had three wins today, NONE on Turf.

Gotta love it!
America must have the highest "goofs per capita" rating of any nation outside Antarctica.
