Who has the done the most to promote racing, improve access and in general make it a better experience for you in the USA?

My vote goes to TVG.

To stick up for the other guy, my vote goes to HRTV.
And secondarily to that internets thingy that brought us TwinSpires or ADWs in general.

The World Cup of Thoroughbred Handicapping and the affiliated racetracks that give their patron's a chance to participate and the winners get to go the Vegas for the grand finale to get a chance to display their handicapping skills to this community in the game that is all about us and not them.

Nothing! Many things have been done to promote racing and improve access but it is questionable whether any of them have made it a better experience. TVG and HRTV give me instant access to virtually all races and Youbet, Twinspires, and Xpressbet allow me to make wagers when I want from the comfort of where I choose to play. Sounds great and it is except that I have come to realize that what made racing fun for me was the daily interaction with my fellow players at the track or OTB. All of the good things have created a disconnect between me and racing. In the good ol' days, walking into the track or OTB was like walking into Cheers Bar. I knew everybody and everybody knew me. Now the familiar faces are few and the atmosphere has changed. Handicapping and betting have become a job without the fun and passion.

The DMFF use to help but now the Forum has been reduced to happy talk only. God forbid if you question someones line of reasoning or mention anything with a political slant. Of course, all of the talk now forbidden by the forum is the exact stuff that regulars talk about on a daily basis at the track or OTB. It's what people talk about everywhere.

The answer is not what is wrong in your everyday life, but what in general makes racing a better experience.
