I just wish management would do something that would change things.
Don't you think for one minute we don't care, embarrassing them will not do it, advising them will not do it.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?
Lester I have sent numerous unanswered emails to BHP management. Suggestions fall on deaf ears over there.

One pet peeve of mine is there is only a two tier section of the track where most other tracks have three. BHP has general admission including player's club and turf club. I prefer clubhouse type admission to keep the rift raft away. There is no such separation at BHP, consequently you'll be standing behind a 10 cent superfecta player who has a $5.07 balance in the machine who is standing there for 5 minutes or more.

Hollywood Park abandoned their business several years ago and sold it to land developers. If it all could have been turned around by simply moving some deck chairs around in the Titanic room then they would have done it. If there was a booming economy and full employment these last few years HP would already be a Mall and apartments. They will hang around and at least get their artificial surface investment back, however long that was amortized for.
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

Hold it boys, I don't mean Tom on the east coast. I am talking about Vic and Trevor, Both make the last quarter miles come to life. I like Vic the best, however, I know we have our favorites. Go Vic S.

Actually, Churchill paid for the cushion track. It was part of the deal for BMLC to take it off their hands. Now they are just waiting to tear the track down and develop. They would have already torn it down, but after the debacle in San Mateo they decided to wait it out. This is the best backside facility in SoCal and it is the one that management doesn't care about. If the area was as snazzy as Arcadia and Del Mar this would not be an issue. Sad

All I get from the media is conflicting information about Hollywood Park's future. They have been guaranteed racing dates for their summer 2013 meet through mid July and that's it??? No autumn/winter meet in 2013??? Anyone have the definitive word on HP's future in racing???

When they bought the track Bay Meadows Land Corp. made an agreement with the CHRB that they would only have to give something like six months notice if they were not going to request racing dates for a meet. This year at the CHRB meeting in Del Mar the board said BMLC had to tell them right then if they were going to run next Fall. BMLC claimed they can't know if the funds to begin development will come available and don't want to be tied to running a meet in the Fall if they do. They demanded the board give them the six months that had originally been agreed on. They went back and forth a bit and the end result was the CHRB says tell us by January or you get nothing for Fall. Basically this counld go one of two ways: BMLC may fold and request the dates by January or they may dig their toes in and just shut the place down. Hard to say. One thing I do know, I have heard "this is the last year of racing at Hollywood Park" since 1999. The place has never missed a meet, so I won't believe anything until they kick all the horses out and the wrecking balls show up.
