The horseplayer's motto when Shoemaker was in his prime: "If you don't know what to do, bet on the Shoe."

when my dad (who got me into racing) started followed racing since 1975, he says shoemaker and pincay were his favorites of all time. i would've loved to have seen shoe but saw pincay the last couple years and he was great.

He was the best rider I have ever saw, this man had a Rolex stop watch built into his head.

I watch him for years and when he got injured, it broke my heart to see him in his wheel chair coming into the winner circle at Santa Anita.

Of all the jockeys from the past, present and future, nobody will ever beat this man in riding.

No !

Eddie D will kill a favorite like slicing a hot knife through butter.
