He was past his prime in '02. You should have seen him in the 70's and 80's as a young and hungry rider. Fearless!!!!

i was sadly there the day pincay got injured that ended his career. terrible thing that tony firna (however you spell his name) did to end laffit's career. to this date, i blame him for that terrible incident. i could've seen laffit ride a good few years left. you guys are entitled to your guys' opinion on that or not.
too bad my experience of seeing laffit ride was too briefly. would've loved to see him ride more for an extra few years but most certainly got a good taste of seeing both pat day and jerry bailey. saw how great these jockeys were. i remember p.day rode good journey and azeri (at the end of her career). j, bailey riding first call for frankel and mott it was like that's the best rider right there. he was my favorite jockey at that time actually. until he retired. even he came out here to so.cal sometimes for riding engagments for baffert or frankel and even mandella with pleasantly perfect.

My favorite horse pincay rode was when he won with sky jack in the hollywood gold cup beating momentum and that was a masterful ride by him. I saw the race in person and that was sweet to watch.
Am sure there are others better than that but to me that one was one of the best rides ive ever seen!! My favorite horses jerry bailey rode was sightseek, medaglia d oro, congaree, aldaberan (the sprinter however you spell his name). Six perfections and saint liam!! But the one that was a favorite of mine was congaree.

Sharp post. But I'm sure Talamo only wanted to win by a diminishing 1/2 length on Saturday.

Obviously youz are teasing me about 70, but for the record I am extremely age sensitive and don't appreciate jokes about one's age, whether mine or someone much older than me, like Fredo or Sluggo. It's funny, just last year when my wife threw me a Big 3-0 party I almost didn't even show up - that's how bad I am about age. Told her I had to do a horsie tournament, but then relented when she said Alyssa would be jumping out of a cake for me. Vince P

Now me, What the is the problem with Goof, You sound like an expect in calling races, I tell you this, go down before it closes and see Goof, watch him, then say the same G.D. thing again.
If it was so easy, go apply for a job in calling the races at some track.

Letser, As you may or may not know, prior to Trevor, I called many Del Mar races in front of huge crowds. Believe me on this, it ain't as hard as you're making it out to be. Study the jockey silks prior to the race; study the colors of the horse; watch the odds; pay attention to the starter; make a bet or two and call the loving race as you see fit. Don't make this into no rocket science love - you're calling a loving horse race for Crissakes, not creating an Atom. Vince P
