Re: Lava Man Comeback? There is no way Lava Man will race again. Come on he did it all and he is done. We did not want him to leave Cali but it looks like on the other forum he will be a lead pony. Not sure if I agree on that either. I love Lava Man and he needs to do what he needs to do.
Re: Lava Man Comeback?
As long as he enjoys being a lead pony, it's fine. These people know what's best for Lava Man. I can't imagine he'd ever race again, and I certainly hope he wouldn't. JMO.
Re: Lava Man Comeback?I thought maybe they were bringing him out of retirement so Zenyatta has another glorified Allowance horse to beat, but he's a male so it would never happen.

Re: Lava Man Comeback?I'm thinking Brett Favre comes out to ride LM in a allowance optional claimer ?
Re: Lava Man Comeback?
Wow, seems as though any opportunity anybody has to take a shot at Zenyatte they jump on it. Avatar - Lords Table winning the Bull Rastus Handicap at Los Al, 9/9/05, Russel Hadley up.
Re: Lava Man Comeback?
I just laughed pretty hard. Well said.
Re: Lava Man Comeback?I haven't read the Thoroughbred Times article yet, so I don't know what it said; however, Big Brown also had a workout recently but obviously he is not returning to the races. The work is to merely keep him fit, and I suspect this is true for Lava Man.
OK, I just read the article and it looks like perhaps returning to the races is a possiblility. I don't necessarily like that, but assuming these folks can really "know" what the horse is feeling and wanting, they will do everything that insure's Lava Man's best interest and his good.
