Jumpers MISS at Emerald Downs - Sunday 9/13

Postby Pathagan » Sun Sep 13, 2009 3:37 pm

Knight Raider, the 1/5 favorite who had won 4 in a row, had $148,504 of $156,284 to show in the Diane Ken Stakes despite facing 10 other fillies and the outside post, got fried on the front end and gave up the ghost late in finishing 4th:

3 HAVE'N A WILD TIME 56.40 21.40 187.00
9 PRIVATE FORTUNE 23.40 108.60
1 PISTOLPACKIN'GAL 156.40

$1 EXA (3 / 9) $413.60
$1 TRI (3 / 9 / 1) $6,867.10
$1 SPR (3 / 9 / 1 / 11) $13,467.50
$1 PK3 (6 / 1 / 3) $297.10

Had a few bucks across on both the 3 and 4, so I'm happier than ****

Damn ... wished I had been following that closer as I just checked those results myself. I would have laid some $$$ down for sure ... congrats on the score!

I can't believe I missed it as I walked out for a 10 min. break. Been watching TVG all afternoon and I ALWAYS bet against the big show pools. Just sick to my stomach.

I wonder how the people who dropped all the cash to show on the 11 horse feel right now...
Does Lester have a real job, or is he posting on this site just to torment the rest of the civilized world?

Thanks,

I couldn't believe anyone would have had to stones to put that much $$$ to show on anything in a 11-horse field (and on a filly with the outside post with speed to her inside).

How about the $2 first timer show bettors? They must be in shock, as well as being hooked on racing now.

!@#%&!! Dang Seahawks. I will never pick football over the track again.

Rich Perloff of TVG says he put 2.00 to show on the field during the race and came away with over 450.00 for his 20.00. Good goin' Rich!

Good knowing Rich also collected yesterday.

That makes two of us (though I had WPS on the 3 and 4 as well) ;)

No BS, my mother-in law, played $2 across. She asked me, i told her i have the 3 with the 4 on top of my tri. I told her that was Ron Croketts horse. The tote board at EMD only goes to 99,999 for individual horses. so they turned off the show money for the #11
I added it up just before post and knew the 11 had way over 100 K of the total
