Best Jock Alive - Scott, J. M.

Postby Vince P » Fri Sep 11, 2009 5:12 am

For several years now I've been trying to explain to everyone that Joy is the best jock riding on the southern California circuit, and possibly the best jock in the country besides Russell Baze.

She can move a horse up miles, let alone lengths. Just watch her composure and mocksie in the saddle. She reminds me of me sometimes - a cross between Eddie Arcaro and Isaac Murphy in their prime. She also has that women's intuition thing and knows how to caress a horse to victory when the nag is under pressure.

If I were a trainer or agent, I'd jump all over her and give her first call on every horse in my barn.

The problem is that no one takes me seriously no more and often miss out on the simple plays, like yesterday's 6th at Pomona. I often feel like that little boy who kept telling everyone about that wolf that I saw.

I even gave out this filly on my radio show yesterday as my seven star guaranteed best bet. I'm now 2-2 this year.

Another meeting where she'll finish with the highest positive ROI in the jocksroom, congrats.

And you forgot to mention that she knows how to use a whip too, on and off the course!
And remember...Things work out best when you make the best of the way things work out.

Ya know, the storyline we've heard about Kristin Mulhall and Chantall Sutherland and the lovely Kayla Stra
make for good TV.... But just howbout the lady that was there B4 all of them.
She with NO complaints about accomodations
She with NO drama tied to other jockeys
She the ONE female (along with a few trainers) the true fans of this dying sport feel deserves a real spot on the show "JOCKEYS"

I WANT JOY SCOTT ON THE TV SHOW ----- JOCKEY'S.....she's earned it, she deserves it... lets get her some pub.

From the point of view of the show's producers, she's probably not dramatic enough.
Which is not a knock against Joy Scott -- it's actually a compliment that she does her job and doesn't make scenes.

Sounds like someone to watch... is she going to be at Santa Anita? I hope to get there (first time ever) in Oct. I would love to someday do a series of paintings on women jocks, and if she's there it would be great to get some pics of her for future reference!
