There are a bunch of Giant's Causeways, Bernardinis, Empire Maker, Tiznows in this year's crop, all better bred than Optimizer going a mile and a quarter.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the last winner of the Darby supposedly just a "Turf Horse" too?

but this horse is not bred to just be a turf horse. his dam is by ap indy, those can dirt, cant they? his 2nd dam is a g1 stakes winner going two turns on dirt his 3rd dam is a g1 stakes winner going two turns on dirt his 4th dam is a g1 stakes winner going two turns on dirt
from this immediate female family, have come to name some but not all are: heavenly prize pure prize good reward dancing spree oh what a windfall all graded stakes winners going two turns on dirt
regarding his sire english channel, yes he did win over $5 million on grass but he is by smart strike who produced a few nice dirt horses like curlin. english channels full brother sedgefield ran 2nd to hard spun in the lanes end, same race animal kingdom won last year (poly) but also ran 2nd in two other two turn dirt stakes races. english channels 2nd dam is by hagley a two turn stakes winner on dirt who is a son of olden times who won multip;e stakes races going two turns on dirt his 2nd dam is by hagley stakes winner going two turns on dirt.
the reason i like this horse has nothing to do with his pedigree, trainer, owner etc.. the reason i like him is because of his stride, he is going to be better the older he gets and the longer they run.

under the 1st 3 dams you will find at least 20 dirt stakes winners
This is such a joke. Optimizer is by ENGLISH CHANNEL, a horse that never started on dirt, despite being in Todd Pletcher's care. You talk about how the damside is so much more important pedigree-wise, yet use the sires to back up your frivolous argument. More importantly, Optimizer is trained by Wayne Lukas, who is not interested in turf horses, yet started him on turf. That speaks to his dirt ability. Optimizer's dam and 2nd dam have produced more steeplechase winners than route winners. His pedigree is so ridiculously turf heavy it's not even funny. The best racehorse from his 2nd dam was Finder's Fee, who was a one-run sprinter owned by the Phipps. It's one thing for you to have strong opinions. It's another to actually try to back them up with facts. I'm not even going to touch that you keep touting Double Rah Rah, who is now 0-3 and recently lost for the 2nd straight time after setting a soft pace, this time to a horse coming out of a 25k claimer.
huh, lukas not interested in turf horses? he trained the bc turf winner who was also named champion grass horse. i guess heavely prize wasnt much of a dirt horse? she comes from optimizers immediate female family. optimizer should have never ran on grass with that pedigree.

The same thing was said about Dublin who turned out to be a plodder and a pig. Let's face it DWL hasn't done anything in more than a decade as his cash cows of Klein, Young, and Lewis have passed away and his pupil (Pletcher) has all the right owners, breeders, and horses now.

I didn't know that DWL was running in the Kentucky Derby. Must be in great shape to be running a mile and a quarter in around two minutes. Dude is a HAS BEEN. His body of work of course is hall of fame. But right now is just hanging on a ledge with Pletcher, Asmussen, Motion, Baffert and others all stomping on his fingers.
