Calling shenanigans on Sadler

His hoss in the 6th, Ranger Danger, could not have improved that much that quickly absent some funny stuff. Impossible.

Dear Xray:

Don't hate, appreciate.

I am sure that Sadler took great care of Ranger Danger, fed him some good oats, and he just found himself today. Without any real evidence......isn't pointing fingers at trainers who are on a roll kind of pointless?

Yes. I'm certain he just, a la Oscar Berrea, added blinkers. Am I allowed to call bulllove?

Sure, why not? That's what this forum is for.

I was just bored earlier, that's all.

I fully confess that his hoss cost me dinero but come on, has anyone looked at the hoss's pp's and explained the move up? And I'm not bored.

Cost me the Pick-4. His PPs were suspect at best ... a stopper to be sure. I will say that speed seemed to all of a sudden do very well for a Wednesday -- that surely helped some. Interesting that Simon Bray on TVG noted that the only reason he added him to his (losing) Pick-4 ticket was because it was first time Sadler -- no first time blinkers, no first time lasix, no first time gelding -- just blind faith in Sadler. What does he know that we don't? I have no proof of anything nefarious but sure makes one go hmmmmm.

Unfortunately not everything shows up in the PPs, or the clockers report, or over the PA announcements, nor does a split sample need to be sent to the lab, but the rumor is that the change was as simple as using a new bit. Apparently the old one had caused an open sore in the horse's mouth and if ever there was truth to the saying "spit the bit" this was it, the horse was in pain and the new bit made all the difference in the world.

As always, trust but verify, but this comes from a guy who was watching the stall through a knothole unbeknownst to the Sadler barn and saw/heard the experiment as it happened.
And remember...Things work out best when you make the best of the way things work out.

See nothing nefarious here. Although I did not get a form, "Ranger" had been VERY fast in the mornings and took solid coin against straight maidens in his second start after a weak debut. Huge upgrades in both trainer and rider and a weak group where two thirds of the field were over twenty to one! bbb

This is really out of Handicapping 101. New trainer, new track, and a 2yo learning how to race. Any one of those issues should be a reason enough to consider the horse. Throw in the fact that the horse took some money and I'm shocked that anybody was surprised at the outcome.

I rise to your bait sir. I am suprised anyone would not be suprised at this ridiculous improvement. A guy looking through a knothole heard about a 40 point improvement causing bit change? Must have been one hell of a 101 class you attended. Silly comment.
