Laytown beach racing (IRE)

Postby Moonwalker » Tue Sep 01, 2009 10:08 am

Horses were running races on the beach in Laytown, Ireland this morning on TV. Now there's an idea for a Rachel/Zenyatta match -- not on dirt, not on synthethic, not on turf. Let them have a wade in the ocean, then run along the beach. They wouldn't even have to ship to Ireland... there's a handy beach next to Del Mar.

I remember these Irish beaches from last year; they remind me of the movie "The Quiet Man." I don't believe anyone caught a lady's bonnet from off a pole at the end of the race, though.

One of these days, I'm going to go there on vacation. Maybe when my rich uncle gets out the poorhouse, I can borrow the money from him.
