Garcia has filed an appeal with the New York Racing and Wagering Board and will ride during the appeal process, according to the Albany (N.Y.) Times Union.

Thus finishing out the 'Toga meeting.... :|
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

Yeah, that's the part that disgusts me. The punishment should be to not finish out the meet.

What happened to just doing your time and getting it over with?

Bill Banuim, a trainer at Yavapai came up with a bad test at Yavapai. He appealed it and kept training finally coming up with a total of 6 more bad tests over the next few days. Personally,I think he was betting those horses trying to win enough to pay for the appeal - HA! Anyway, Yavapai threw him off the track and he packed his bag and the horses and went off to Sacramento where his well-to-do owner lives (when is she going to learn?). He walked in the racing office and - supposedly announced - that he was Bill Banium and he was here to win races! They, however, honored Yavapai and threw him off the track and later out of the stands where he was trying to bet.

Long story short - he just put the horses in his daughter's name so they could race, his son is there hustling Saul Duarte's book and most of AZ is enjoying watching the Baniums get 'schooled on' in California.

I am not sure, I would have to check my sources, but from what I understand, the Alan Garcia thing is simply one big misunderstanding.

Just one man's opinion, of course.

The sorry part for me is that the foul ruined a perfectly classic stretch call by Durkin! Capt Candyman Can is the best named horse of the year, and Durkin was all set to nail it.

"Can he?"

We'll never know now.
