proff how inexact the science of breeding is, unbridled and cahill road
are full brothers, cahill road looked like a monster before he got hurt, he has been an absolute bust as a stallion, with unbridled being one of the best alive

Aspidistra was the dam of 4 year old Dr. Fager and 2 year old Ta Wee, who were both racing in 1968. Dr. Fager won several stakes that year but I don't believe Ta Wee won a stakes race until the next year.

There's a pretty good Ogygian mare named Starr County that has dropped some runners.

Anyone have any stats on her? Has she dropped anything lately?

And, how could Weekend Surprise, Up the Flagpole, and Prospector's Delight miss doing this? They were dropping Stake winners about every year.

"Crazykid":
rarely are mares 1st foals good and when they have had 5 or 6 foals the quality generally goes down after that.

Weekend Surprise had a still-born for her first, then Summer Squall, skip a year then A.P. Indy. Not bad.
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

Another name came to mind: Fall Aspen

i have had terrible luck with maiden mares. abort or born sick or deformed or run through a fence something always goes wrong.
if i ever bought an in foal mare it would have to not be her first foal she was carrying
