purp, i intend and actually plan on winning at least $5k on sept 5th
playing saratoga and del mar. that is my minimum amount i need to attend
the orleans contest oct 1st. im not kidding. my stake for the day will only be about $400.00
which is about 1/2 what i like to have to play two tracks for a day

Agreed. Saratoga has absolutely been awful this summer. It's turned into a Whack-A-Mole game. Who knew that in 2009, Del Mar would be the more consistent and bettor-friendly track?

Jocks are superb? Leparoux has gone in the toilet, and Garcia has turned into mush on horses not trained by Linda Rice.

I'll give you field sizes for some of the races, but I've seen plenty of 7-horse with a 6/5 favorite garbage too.

Don't get me wrong, I love huge fields. But Saratoga has yielded very few, if any, playable price horses this summer. Hell, Ellis has had better large-field racing.

"...Hell, Ellis has had better large-field racing...".

Albeit at three racing days per week!
America must have the highest "goofs per capita" rating of any nation outside Antarctica.

take the last race on Monday --the winner had a 3 star jockey switch and a good running number-easy money at a decent price,no?
