You gotta be a tough horseplayer--to go and to 'cap every day of TOGA. I am getting weary, esp my eyes --fight on players--two more weeks
Re: You gotta be a tough horseplayer--purp, i intend and actually plan on winning at least $5k on sept 5th
playing saratoga and del mar. that is my minimum amount i need to attend the orleans contest oct 1st. im not kidding. my stake for the day will only be about $400.00 which is about 1/2 what i like to have to play two tracks for a day
Re: You gotta be a tough horseplayer--Agreed. Saratoga has absolutely been awful this summer. It's turned into a Whack-A-Mole game. Who knew that in 2009, Del Mar would be the more consistent and bettor-friendly track?
Re: You gotta be a tough horseplayer--fields are large and close on talent--jocks are mostly superb --trainers are crafty --what a meet!!
Re: You gotta be a tough horseplayer--Jocks are superb? Leparoux has gone in the toilet, and Garcia has turned into mush on horses not trained by Linda Rice.
I'll give you field sizes for some of the races, but I've seen plenty of 7-horse with a 6/5 favorite garbage too.
Re: You gotta be a tough horseplayer--i like it when the races look wide open, thats when you can make some real money, and sometimes the hore(s) i come up with a bombs
Re: You gotta be a tough horseplayer--
we'll be @ Saratoga Labor Day weekend, you want a frosty ice cold beer ?
Re: You gotta be a tough horseplayer--
Don't get me wrong, I love huge fields. But Saratoga has yielded very few, if any, playable price horses this summer. Hell, Ellis has had better large-field racing.
Re: You gotta be a tough horseplayer--"...Hell, Ellis has had better large-field racing...".
Albeit at three racing days per week! America must have the highest "goofs per capita" rating of any nation outside Antarctica.
Re: You gotta be a tough horseplayer--take the last race on Monday --the winner had a 3 star jockey switch and a good running number-easy money at a decent price,no?
