Name still online after logging out

I've noticed repeatedly that after I've logged out, my registered name still appears online. Why is that? I oftentimes have to log in and then log out 3 or 4 times before my name is finally gone.

I've noticed repeatedly that after I've logged out, my registered name still appears online. Why is that? I oftentimes have to log in and then log out 3 or 4 times before my name is finally gone.

The list notes that it's based on activity in the last few minutes. Is it taking longer than that?

If it's based on activity, this might account for the delay. The longer, a person is on and active, the longer it takes for the name to disappear. That is inconvenient though, and I don't want to leave the site until I'm off. I'll wait a few minutes and try again. Usually after a few minutes I'm successful. It's frustrating though.
